Concept Art and Visual Development
The Apartment:
Syd is tidy, but prone to overnight work sessions. She takes time to decorate, but still clings onto the icons of her punk teen years. In designing her apartment space, I wanted it to show the financial stability she has found in her corporate job but also the wish she could go back to the maximalist, excentric design ethos she lost along the way.
The majority of the short takes place outside split into three sections: the job, the search and the beach. Tt’s getting darker and darker as the short goes on and as Syd runs out of time to find abby (the lost cat).
